Trotter Hughes Thousandth Point

On the night of January 18, 2024, the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers faced the Sweet Springs Greyhounds in an exciting basketball match. The tension was rising as we got closer to game time because Trotter Hughes was only 6 points away from scoring 1,000 points. The crowd was all ready for the moment he scored, with posters and pictures of Trotter Hughes.

The game started when the Tigers won the tipoff. The ball was passed down the court to Trotter Hughes, and he took the three and made it. With only three points away from 1,000, the Tigers got the ball back. The Tigers brought it back down the court, and it was passed to Haden Terrill. Trotter Hughes cut around the basket and back to the three-point line as Lucas Waterworth and Maddox Blystone set the screen for him to hit the three. Trotter Hughes got the ball back, and he took the shot. The whole crowd went silent, and all that was heard was a swish!!

The entire crowd went crazy as Trotter Hughes made his thousandth point and joined the thousand-point club. Trotter Hughes said, "It was ecstatic, like I just felt the best feeling ever as I felt tears build up in my eyes, and heard the whole gym filled with screams. I'm so happy I got to do it with the boys; they've always felt like family and the way they pushed me to be my best."
