The Year 2023, Comes to an End.

Throughout this year, a ton of events unfolded, some within our school and others encompassing the entirety of Kansas City. Let's kick off with one of the major events. You know it as the revelation in late 2023 about the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. This news shook up the city, especially since Kelce is a key player for the Chiefs. Joe Heater pointed out that this duo is exciting because it brings together fans from both worlds of sports and music.

Coming closer to home, our Esports team hit a winning streak by making it to the state competition for the second year ina row, boasting an undefeated season. Stepping back a bit, it was also the year when the Chiefs claimed the Super Bowl victory! Their match against the Philadelphia Eagles ended with a 38-35 victory, marking one of their closest games of the season. As it stands, their current season record is 8-5.

Focusing back on our town and school, it was a groundbreaking year for the WN Tigers as they secured their first district football win in five years, winning against the Lincoln Cardinals with a final score of 29-24. This victory served as a monumental milestone for the entire team.

Undoubtedly, numerous other events filled the year, but these stood out to me personally. Unexpected occurrences happened throughout this year. Sadly, the year has come to a close, but it leaves us with anticipation for the events 2024 holds in store.
