The Hampton's Love Story

18 years in the making, the Hampton's love still continues on today.

The Hampton's are very well known here at Wellington-Napoleon. From Jonny Hampton, a junior and starting quarterback on the WN football team, to Annie Hampton, an eighth grader here at WN who is involved in volleyball, basketball, and more. Though the main focus is their parents Mindy and Andy Hampton. Andy Hampton is the Body Conditioning coach and Mindy is a former superintendent here at WN. This story did not start at Wellington though. These two lovebirds both started their career just down the highway at Oak Grove High School. “We were both track coaches and freshman basketball coaches at Oak Grove,” added Mr. Hampton. Mindy caught his eye and he decided he needed to take her on a date. Mini golf and dinner was where the matchmaking took place. If you know Mr. Hampton you could probably guess who won. If not, Mr. Hampton is one competitive person so he took the win. Fast forward 18 years and the dynamic duo has been together since that day. “My dad is peanut butter to my mom's jelly,” described Jonny when talking about his parents. The pair now enjoys spending time with their children, drinking coffee on the weekends and riding on their boat. From coworkers to soulmates, the duo continues on.
