This past Saturday, the Pride of the Tigers Band participated in the Odessa Marching Invitational (OMI). The band was placed in the Red Division, which included three other smaller bands. The band members who attended OMI were Joylnn Scott, Maddie Hamer, Keifer Gaddy, Brody Gaddy, Devin Lewis, Riley Mansell, Lyndsey Lockhart, Josalyn Kennedy, Baylee Frye, Cainan Shirk, Annabel Hoffman, Casey Raymond, Ean Wilson, Emma Heater, Leah Sanchez, Jackson Shaw, and Tucker Ryun.

OMI is an event where multiple bands come to Odessa to participate in various activities. Unfortunately, due to the small size of the Pride of the Tigers Band, they could only participate in the marching activity. The band had been diligently practicing their marching and playing "High Hopes," the song they would perform at OMI. They lined up and were ready to march at the early hour of 9:15. While most bands might not prefer such an early start, the WN band was eager and ready to perform.

After the band completed the parade, they prepared to head home and await their results. The OMI awards ceremony took place at 7:30, and the Red Division was the first to receive their awards. Regrettably, the band ended up in 4th place. While the band did have its flaws, there is no reason to feel disheartened about the placement. Instead, this result should only fuel their desire to achieve a better placement next year.
