Story By Raelee Rukavina

Here at Wellington-Napoleon athletics are a big part of the school and the community. This week we are focusing on one athlete in particular. Abe Ahmann, Abe is in middle school here at WN. Abe is involved in football, basketball, track, Student Council, high school basketball and football Manager.  Abe “is a leader outside of the court but a great performer on the court”, added head coach Mr. McConkey. McConkey is not lying about the performance on the court. Seen last Tuesday at the Lexington VS Wellington basketball game, Abe came down the court ball in hand then swished a buzzer beater white line three. He then follows the three with a celebratory run to the locker room, jumping and hitting the ceiling.

Let's just say Abe is a crowd favorite. You’ll see him swishing multiple shots and doing fun celebrations after. Abe’s main position is a guard and he averages about 15 points per game. His inspiration is his father and Micheal Jordan. Abe's father is a past alumni and what we heard was pretty good at the game also. Abe's goal is to score 1000 points and go to college for basketball. To think Abe is only an 8th grader imagine what he will do in the future, we may have the next Micheal Jordan on our hands.
