Welcome back, everyone! We have had a total of 9 snow days since Christmas break, and this will be only our seventh day of school. In addition to lots of snow, we also have had ice. This is what set back the buses to pick up students, which causes all the snow days. It also makes it hard for people to get around in general. We interviewed Mrs. Jarman, the K-12 art teacher, and she said she had car trouble. “One day over the days off I came into the school to water my plants, and on the way back my car got stuck.” She said the roads around her house were very icy, and made it hard for her to get around. We also interviewed Cole Williamson, a student at Wellington-Napoleon, and he said that around his house they got four inches of snow. Many of our students including Cole enjoyed their break despite the snow. Along with Cole, middle schooler, Anderson Wright, went sledding. Cole went sledding in a cornfield. “I went with Brylinn and Blake Zykan, and we took the gator and attached two sleds to it.” Anderson not only went sledding, but he also made snow angels, threw snowballs, and rode a boogie board down a hill. Cole also was able to drive around many places. He went to IKEA, and while he was there, pipes burst. He was not able to get in. More successful trips he went to include basketball games and OG Nutrition runs.  Even though the snow was fun, there was a lot that was happening inside. Mrs. Jarman took on many personal projects during the break. “I did a deep cleaning throughout my entire house, painted many projects, and repainted walls.” If only we all could do that much in 9 days! Family was also important to her over the break. They all made a life-size bear out of the snow! Until February 2, Groundhog Day, we won’t know if this will happen again. I think the teachers are hoping for early spring while the kids say bring on the snow!
