Last Friday, our Tigers celebrated senior night out on the field with football players, cheerleaders, and band. Our senior football players make up a small group this year, but they are mighty on the field. Trotter Hughes, Jack Wiggins, and Lucas Waterworth were recognized. Maddie Sims and Cadance Rogge are our two senior football cheerleaders, and Jackson Shaw was recognized as a senior band member.

“ I’m going to miss getting ready with some of my favorite people,” said Cadence Rogge sadly. For most home games, groups of cheerleaders get ready together and normally go to Riverside or Second Street Nutrition. “The main part of cheer I love is just going out there and having fun with my friends,” said Maddie when talking about cheer. Everyone wants to have a legacy after they leave, and this is big in sports. “ I want people to remember me for always bringing the most energy, even to the smallest things. You also need to have a good attitude not just for yourself, but for other people to build off of,” said Jack while we were talking about legacies. When you play a sport for four years you come very close with most of your teammates. “ I’m really going to miss playing with all of my good guy friends. We won't be together every day anymore. One of my favorite memories with the team is having sleepovers at Elijah's house.” said Trotter. Lucas thought that his senior year had come very fast and couldn’t believe it was already here. “ It was a very surreal moment playing one of my last games at home.”

The band takes a lot of time and dedication. One of Jackson’s favorite band memories was “District Band with Tuckie Wukkie.” It sounds like Jackson and Tucker cause mischief wherever they go.

Every good thing has to come to an end. These seniors will always know they can come back to Wellington, and that this is their home.
