Coughs are heard from down the hallway and absences are marked. The season we all fear is here. Flu season. Flu season is usually the worst around December through February. Lets just say we definitely hit the peak of the season here at Wellington-Napoleon. From many students absent, to even some staff gone too, the wave has definitely been found in our school. Speaking with our very own Nurse Sammy, “I had over 60 visits in my office alone last Friday.” The Nurse’s Office was definitely a popular place to be last week. “I also had ten people sent home last week and eight of the kids were sent home Friday,” added Nurse Sammy. Ten people may not sound like much, but compared to the usual couple a week, we’ve hit a high.
A couple of healthy hacks that could keep you away from this awful virus may be washing your hands frequently throughout the day or staying far from those who may have the sickness. You can also stay away from drinking or eating after friends and washing your hands before sitting down for lunch. All we can do is hope that this virus doesn't find its way to you. Stay safe and be careful in this outbreak.
