This week is the start of the boys and girls conference tournament. The girls played yesterday and will play on Wednesday. The boys play tonight and Thursday. If either team wins, they could potentially play more games. We interviewed the starters to see how they were feeling about the games. The boy's starters are Trotter Hughes, Jack Wiggins, Lucas Waterworth, Haden Terrill, and Jonny Hampton. The girls starters are Corinna Utterback, Izzy Miller, Charlesie Lamphier, Melanie Thornburg. I first interviewed the guy's starters. All of the guys are feeling prepared for this week's conference games. Jonny said, “The guys have been watching film and practicing hard to prepare.” I then asked what was the most crucial part of the team. “Playing as one and holding the momentum is the most crucial part, “ said Trotter Hughes. Jack said, 'We need to play hard defense and make sure we get the ball to the post-Haden Terrill." Lastly, I asked them how the team morale has been, and Lucas thinks that it has been good. “The team morale is pretty solid, and we seem to all really like each other.” He also said that they all are close friends. The team being close is a crucial element to their success. Haden also added that the locker room brings us together.

The girl's team is also feeling prepared. Last year, they lost their last game against Saint Paul and they played them yesterday. Before they played, Melanie Thornburg said that she was excited for the rematch. The team won and is not ready to play Thursday. I asked the girls again what was the most crucial part of their team. Corinna said, “The most crucial part of the team is our defense. This group has excelled at it since our JV years.” Isabelle also agreed with this. She also answered the question, of how marale has been, and said "It has been really good. We’ve been picking each other up and trying to keep the energy going. "
