Last Monday a new set of Members were inducted into NHS. Hayden Terrill, Cole Williamson, Joe Heater, Levi Wallace, Brilynn Zykan, Raelee Rukavina, Kaylin Ellensohn, Ashlynn Meyer, and Janessa Abma have all been inducted into NHS. The National Honors Society is very prestigious in our school. You have to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, not have any ISSs or OSSs, and you would also have to be involved in the school. We have had lots of people this year who have made it, and this shows the academic and determination of our students. The ceremony was beautiful with tables, nice dresses, and candles lining the tables. The next day I interviewed a couple of people and asked how their experience was through the whole process. Cole is a senior who was inducted into NHS. Talking to Cole Williamson, I first asked what his thoughts were after being in NHS. He said that he feels honored and grateful for the opportunity. “I am excited about the future for our school, and the difference that I can make.” Being a representative for the school is another thing Cole is ready for, and he talked about how the process was worth what he’s getting out of it. He finished by saying the steps that took place to get here were a little challenging, but nothing that he couldn’t handle. I then interviewed Ashlynn Meyer, and she had the same mindset Cole had in regard to it being challenging. Cole said that the hardest part was the essays while Ash thought that the hardest part was the interview. Overall everyone who was inducted would agree that it was a stressful process. But on the bright side, Ash says, “I am excited to be a part of NHS, and I plan to get more involved with the community.” Congratulations to all our new members!
