The middle school basketball season has begun. With our boy's team currently 2-1, we had the opportunity to interview head Coach Justin Mefferd on how the season was going. According to him, there is some great talent on the team. "We have several experienced 8th graders who played as 7th graders last year, as well as some very athletic 7th graders who have complimented our 8th-grade experience well." The goal of the team isn't just to win, however. "Well, I think the goal of any middle school athletic program is to gain experience in order to become better high school athletes." Wyatt Miller, a member of the basketball team, shared some of his insights with us. It was said the reason that they have been doing so well was as follows." I would say it's our drive to do good and win." Miller said his goal for the team this year was to win the Norborne tournament on November 4th-8th. Kingston, another member of the basketball team, believes they are doing so well because of hard work and practice. His only goal is to ensure that even if they lose a game, to keep it within 10 points.
