I was able to have a chat with Trey (Marty) Lambertson. Well-known throughout the school, Marty is one of the offensive and defensive linemen for the Wellington-Napoleon High School football team. In his previous football game, against Crest Ridge, Marty had to go head-to-head against adversity. While playing in the fourth quarter, after already being yelled at and mocked by the other team, Marty was hit with an uppercut into his jaw. This angered Marty very much. Despite the loss, Marty never gave up even after being hit and yelled at. Marty is a true champion.

Other than being at school and being at football games and practices, Marty has the same routine every day. He wakes up around the time of 3:30 pm. After he’s aware that he has awoken from his slumber, he hops up out of bed, takes around 5 steps to his computer to boot it up, and starts to play the game League of Legends. League is Marty’s favorite game. In Marty’s words, “I play League of Legends and waste my life away”. If he was not playing league, he goes out to eat with WN alumni, Amber Dillon.

On the topic of playing League of Legends, I asked Marty if he was willing to coach or play the game if it was introduced to E-Sports. Marty’s answer was that he’d be a coach and help the players learn the game. “I know nobody knows how to play…” Marty said sadly. When asked how he would coach the team, Marty said that he would have the players learn all of the characters and turn on skill-capped, which are tips about the game League of Legends.
