Saturday our very own WN Marching Band competed in a marching competition and brought home the gold.
On Saturday, the marching band went to Higginsville to march in their parade. They played three songs: Bang the Drum, Bad Romance, and The Fight Song. They had one competitor this year and it was Santa Fe. Tucker Ryun, the Drum Major, says “Keifer was really our only percussionist, because Aaron’s finger is broken and it looked like he was playing with both hands but it was really only one.” At first, Tucker was concerned when he heard the Santa Fe band playing, but he had no reason to be because they took the victory.
The judges thought that they looked more clean playing compared to Sante Fe playing.
Band teacher, Ms. Mrosko, said, "They played really well and their marching looked really clean.” She was slightly upset that the judges didn’t give them any feedback and that the judges only said they looked clean. Ms. Mrosko thinks they need to work on their stamina and just keep on practicing hard.
The WN Prowl staff congratulates them on bringing home the gold. The staff hopes to be there at their next competition and to cheer them on.
