Marching to the Top

On September 17, the Wellington-Napoleon marching band went to the Higginsville Parade to compete. The weather was nice and cool, compared to last year's scorching hot sun. Our school played two songs, Smoke on the Water and Uma Thurman. For the first part of the parade, the band wasn't playing their best, but the longer they were there, the better they sounded. At the final stretch of the parade, they met the Higginsville marching band. Everyone in Higginsville was on their feet cheering and clapping for the Wellington-Napoleon band. Out of all of the competing bands that went to Higginsville, Wellington-Napoleon came out on top and won first place. Our students also scored 30 more points than they had the previous year which is a significant boost. The band did an excellent job with their performance at the Higginsville parade.
