You know Halloween is fast approaching when you see the Ryun yard turn into a spooky spectacle so striking it makes Spirit Halloween look simple. With wizards and witches walking in the streets of Wellington, Halloween this year was a win. Halloween originated from a Celtic tradition of warding off the wandering spirits that crossed over from the land of the dead. Now, Halloween is all about being with friends and family while dressing up as whoever you wish to be. Whether at Worlds of Fun's Halloween Haunt or Trunk or Treat hosted by the clubs of Wellington-Napoleon High School, students were dressed to impress. Though there were many fashionable looks, the students of Wellington-Napoleon High School had some favorites. Winning first place, according to the high school and middle school students, was Rhilee Breshears Davis. He dressed up as Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbenders. Thank you to FFA, FBLA, and FCCLA for Trunk or Treat! Hopefully your stomach doesn’t hurt too much from all the candy!
