Story By Mia Hodson

You know Thanksgiving is close when you start hearing your stomach growls sound like ¨Gabble Gabble.”

I think it is universal that Thanksgiving is one of the most favorite meals of the year. Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks and I am thankful for all my family members, who bring food to Thanksgiving. We all have our favorite things on the menu from turkey, to mashed potatoes, and cornbread.

Imagine you had to pick between your favorite traditional Thanksgiving dishes. What would you pick and what would you pitch?

According to Wellington-Napoleon students, we as a school would pick ham over turkey, brown gravy over white gravy, mashed potatoes over sweet potatoes, dinner rolls over cornbread, pumpkin pie over pecan pie, white meat over brown meat, mac and cheese over stuffing, corn over green beans, and dinner over lunch.

Do the picks ring true for you?

The Heater family has developed a tradition of eating cannolis that their grandma, “Grammy” makes.

“She's been making them longer than I've been alive.” Emma Heater says. These sweet treats are filled with a soft buttery filling with cherries and Hershey chocolate. “The stuffing is my favorite part.” Joe and Emma Heater agreed.

We all have our own traditions and maybe some more than others, but this holiday season is all about being together and grateful for what we have. Happy Holidays!
