First Year Jitters

I think that everyone can agree that they were shaking in their boots on the first day of school their freshman year. According to these four freshmen though, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Instead of the stereotypical fear of being shoved into a locker, Levi Beckner thinks there's not much of a difference from middle school to high school and, “If anything, high school is a little less strict.” Some of the biggest fears that they had coming into the big leagues of school were being late to class, hard homework, and not understanding things. As an upperclassmen, I think this really shows that our high school is very welcoming and kind because none of them were afraid of the kids in high school. We had a few new freshman move from different schools this year and I think that they were welcomed as well. Skylar Sparks moved to Wellington this year and likes the school so far. “The biggest difference from my old school to here is just that this school is a k-12 school.” I think that everyone attending our high school can agree that there is no need to be scared. The only advice that Kinsey Cowick had was, “Make sure you take notes and don’t be scared. It's not as bad as you think it is.” Lauren Sharp agreed with Kinsey and said people have yet to be scary and to just be confident.

According to these freshmen, there is no need to be scared. Just turn in your work, and just be yourself, and everything will be fine. You are lucky to go to a small school with small lockers! Good luck to the Class of 2028.
