Wellington Napoleon students celebrate their family traditions over the holidays.
November and December are times for families to come together and to enjoy each others company and spend time with each other. Many people have their own traditions they do with their families every year. Izabel Lopez plays a variety of games every Christmas Eve, but one specific tradition is hiding the pickle. This game has someone hiding a pickle ornament on a Christmas tree and then everyone searches for the pickle,” The pickle game gets very aggressive.” Whoever finds the pickle either wins cash or some kind of gift card. This tradition has been going on for as long as she can remember and was started by her grandma.
Bella Heater couldn’t decide which one was her favorite tradition, eating noodles on New Years or eating Italian food on Christmas Eve. On New years every year Bella and her family will eat noodles, “so they can live a long life.” The noodle tradition has been around for a very long time, before her grandma was born. This is a special tradition because Bella wants to live a long life. Her other favorite was eating Italian food on Christmas Eve with her family. This tradition is special to her because she spends time with her family, sings with them and eats good food.
Makayla Simsheuser loves this time of the year. Every Thanksgiving she goes down to Branson to shop, look at Christmas lights, and spend time with her family. It's her favorite tradition because she loves spending time with her family, and she also loves to shop. They have been going for about seven years. Makayla and her family won’t be going to Branson this year, but she’s hoping to go next year.
Family traditions are a special part of the holidays, bringing loved ones together and creating long lasting memories.
The Yearbook Staff wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
