Last Thursday, the Varsity Esports team got the opportunity to travel to Blue Springs and participate in a close-quarters pre-season game. “I think it's an amazing opportunity. This is just the start of a new normal, and I can't wait to see more of our games being hosted at other schools or even our school,” commented Nate Anderson, our head coach for the Wellington-Napoleon Esports team.

As a member of the Varsity Esports team myself, I can say that this is a very good opportunity for us, as it will allow us to adjust to the radical change between at-home games and state championship games. Thursday evening, we went to the Blue Springs High School and had our preseason game. We put up a good fight but sadly lost all three maps. I thoroughly believe this was a good opportunity, as we learned of things we need to work on in order to enter a new level of play.
