This Thursday, the WN Varsity boys' team will face an old rivalry team, the Odessa Bulldogs. This will be a game to remember, as it is every year. The starters for tonight's game will be Trotter Hughes, Jack Wiggins, Lucas Waterworth, Haden Terrill, and Jonny Hampton. The boys are 0-1 in the season, with a tough loss to the Lawson Cardinals.

Trotter Hughes said, “We need to be able to run the offense, spread the floor, and work together as a team.” Lucas Waterworth added, “We lack a lot of size, so we need to be able to use our speed to win games.”

The boys' basketball team lost a lot of size and valuable players from last year, so some changes were made. The team has many good things they've done, like getting the ball to the post and the ability to shoot the ball. Things for them to work on include driving to the rim and trying to draw fouls.

The whole team goes out and eats the day before the game, improving their friendship, and it helps them work together as a team in games. Joe Heater said, “I really believe that going out to eat brings us closer and makes us better on the court as a team.”

If you want to watch some exciting basketball, come out tonight to support our WN Varsity Boys as they take on the Odessa Bulldogs in the home opener. GO TIGERS!!!
