Christmas traditions are often a big part of the holiday season for many families. Some go ice skating, watch christmas movies, bake cookies, and a number of other activities.
For the Travis family though, they have a special tradition.
Every year Ms. Travis gets a special gift for her two sons. “It has been a tradition for as long as I can remember,” Andrew Travis says. While growing up Ms. Travis always had Santa make it to her house on Christmas Eve. As she got older and had children, she decided to continue some kind of excitement on Christmas Eve, but with a special twist.
Every year, she gets her children a Christmas Eve box that ALWAYS has new pajamas, hot cocoa mugs, and Christmas movies. “Now that streaming services are the norm, I have moved away from the movies and just continue to do the pajamas and hot cocoa,” Mrs. Travis says.
Every year she tries to buy a special mug that maybe her kids usually wouldn't get regularly, so as they have gotten older they could build their collection so when they move out they can take the collection with them.
“It just encapsulates the excitement of Christmas,” Mrs. Travis says. Since her kids were little, they also used that gift as the start of their bedtime routine on Christmas Eve.
While the Travis family enjoys their special tradition, we at the Prowl hope you take some time to appreciate some of the traditions you may have this season with your family and friends.
