As the basketball season is winding down and senior night signifies the last home game, I was able to sit down and talk to one senior from each of the 4 sports. First I talked to Maddie Sims. Maddie has been part of the band for all 4 years of high school. She made conference band all 4 years, and district band her sophomore and Junior year. To start things off I asked her what her favorite band memory was, and she responded “I liked playing with my friends, especially Charlie Jo and Isabelle Miller when she played.” I then asked what she would miss the most from her band career. She said “Mrs Mrosko will be what I miss most, and all the talks we’ve had over the years. The next senior is Molly Osborn from the cheer team. Molly has been in Cheer her freshman, sophomore, and senior year. Her favorite sports memory was “watching the basketball games and cheering with my friends throughout the years.” When asked what she will miss the most she also responded with her coach, “I will miss Coach Travis the most. I love her so much.” Corinna Utterback is the senior from Girls Basketball. She has been part of the team all 4 years and won state her sophomore year. Her favorite memory was “all the intense moments at the end of close games, and all the stuff we do as a team outside of the sport.” When asked what she will miss most from basketball, she said “seeing all the hard work pay off after executing a good post move in the game. It’s super satisfying to see something I’ve practiced over and over during the game.” My last Senior was Lucas Waterworth. Lucas has played and been on Varsity all 4 years of high school. His favorite sports memory was “getting to win districts both my freshman, sophomore, and hopefully this year.” “What I will miss the most is being with my friends both in the locker room and on the bus.” What an amazing career all these seniors have had.
